This bathroom was built-out in a Michigan Avenue artist’s studio.
We started by constructing the space, encasing the walls with columns, giving the appearance that they supported the walls and topping them off with a floating crown molding. Uplighting was used to accent the dramatic black ceiling and exposed pipes. The bathroom featured Armish cabinetry and contemporary fixtures including a Duravit sink with Grohe faucet, a Duravit toilet and a Riobel shower. Mini glass subway tiles in a soft green and a Thassos chair rail with stone surround were used on the walls and a nook was incorporated in the shower for toiletries.
The door included a window transform allowing in natural light and a vintage chandelier provides additional light. The Circular glass knob on the door is by Baldwin.
